It would be wrong to pretend that my main goal did not start out being, and
still is, to regain control of my - and my daughter's - home and my
studio/workshop...
But as I've come to understand how Tax Deed Purchasers work and how
widespread they are, and how the unintended, inevitable evils* of the tax
systems they depend on are manifested, it's become clear that a reform effort
is called for. (*Go to this page to understand this...)
Michigan has recently adopted a system designed to root out the
opportunities for injury and abuse that the common model for tax deed
statutes allow. This new model needs to be more widely introduced even
though, with time, and as with any reform, loopholes will be found and
exploited.
But to not attempt correcting the present situation would
be civic indifference of the worst kind.

If you have had experience with Tax Deed Purchasers, please contact me
with you story, especially if the experience was in another state. Phone if you
must, but writing is better...

The legal dispute seems to have ended in
Destiny-98's favor.
Now all involved in taking over the property to flip it -
Destiny 98, their Realtor (Mike Thompson), potential
buyers and any contractors who might get involved -
need to become aware of the genuine difficulties
facing those plans.
