Here are properties in Tucson Arizona in Pima
County, purchased at lien sales by Advantage
99, only to be allowed to revert for tax sale. A
clear case of abandonment:

Pictured is 226 Howland St in Battle Creek, MI,
purchased by Advantage-99, one of Doug Gale's shell
companies. This home is catalogued in the Willard
Library historical image archive of Battle Creek
homes and buildings
At the Dangerous Buildings Hearing, July 14. 2004, it's condition was described thusly:
<<226 Howland Street (House): Advantage 99TD, property owner, was not present.
Jon Presecan, Code Officer, stated that upon inspection, he found that the house
has been vacant in excess of 180 days, open to trespass which the city has since
secured, deteriorated soffits, fascia and chimney, rotted wood, peeling paint and
broken/missing glass.
Willie Murphy, Hearing Officer, asked if anyone would like to speak on this
particular property. Hearing no comments, Mr. Murphy stated that this property does
represent a hazardous condition in this neighborhood and the community as a whole;
therefore, this Board will give the property owner 30 days to bring it into compliance
or demolish the structure.>>

At the August 18, 2004, Housing Board of Appeals meeting there was only
these notes:
<<226 Howland Street (House): Advantage 99TD, responsible party, was not
present.>>
<<A motion was made by Jackie Braman supported by Denise McCoy to affirm
the order on the following properties due to the non-appearance of the
property owner or responsible party:
226 Howland Street, 72 Lathrop Avenue, 297 Parish Street and 87 Walter.>>
"Affirming the order" gave the owners an additional 60 to contact the city.

An e-mail was received from Don Evans. Here is the message and my
reply:
Original message:
<<name = Don E.

company = none
jobtitle = ired
subject = Destiny 98
comments = I purchased some tax certificates just for the income in 2005. I had to force
sale on one and to my surprise I am to get title...which I do not really want. The prior
owner..Destiny 98. The property is in Orange County Florida parcel #xx-xx-xx-xxxx-
xxxxx. Any comments or advice? Is the prior owner the Destiny 98 you have
mentioned? >>
<<Don,
If I understand your e-mail, you’ve gotten yourself caught in classic case of a bulk tax
lien buyer failing to pay its own taxes on what it has concluded is worthless property,
so forcing the system to get rid of it for them…I have documented several cases of this
scam, albeit not an outright fraud.
It almost surely is the same Destiny-98. All my research leads back to them or the yacht
named Destiny-98 or the musical extravaganza/counter-culture festival. Oh, and
Destiny’s Child. Destiny-98 has a number of other shell names, see:
http://www.supportbeal.com/D-98_and_DG/Names_of_D98.htm
Destiny-98 can be traced to an address in Altamonte Springs, FL. The current address
they seem to be using, and they have used several during my dealings with them, is
940 Centre Circle, Suite 2004, Altamonte Springs, FL 32714. The umbrella company for
Destiny-98 is REO America:
http://www.reo-america.com
Some names associated with D-98 and its shell companies are Douglas Q Gale, John
and Tiffany Cone, Pamela Fleming, Howard C Liggett and George Noga.
The only advice that I can give you is this: I would take it as a fact that they are not
going to do anything whatsoever for you that will not profit them. It is extremely unlikely
that they will take back a property at a fair price once they have gotten rid of it. Anyone
who acquires anything from them, even if they feel they have acquired something of
worth to themselves, has been suckered. I apologize for implying the same of yourself.
Look into the details of my situation and what I have discovered about the tax lien/deed
business:
www.SupportBeal.com
Also, take NOTHING they say at face value. See:
http://www.supportbeal.com/Snarky_build/Doug_Gales_e-mails/Mythical_180_buyer.
html
And:
http://www.supportbeal.com/Snarky_build/E-mails_to_Heidi/E-mails_to_HK-G.html
These cited instances are by no means the only documented “misrepresentations” I
experienced with them.
Lastly, my case isn’t isolated. I have found, and am finding more, involving Destiny-98
and other lien/deed buyers, in spite of the cases not being widely publicized.
You might also contact Geoff Larcom at the Ann Arbor News. He did some research
into them on his own though I have no idea what he might have learned independently:
glarcom@annarbornews.com
I’m sorry I don’t have any good news for you. Good luck and, needless to say, I would
very much like to know more about the details of your dealings with them…
