Cabinets stripped from the
shop/studio and garage
My daughter's dresser I had had
to leave behind, same with the
red trunk.
<<Why did Destiny-98/Mike Thompson strip everything of
value from the buildings, to the extent of actually removing
building components? Stopping just short of removing
the copper pipes and wiring...

They obviously had no plans to resell to myself, otherwise
why devalue it in this way?

Were they simply stripping it of any movable valuables
simply as scavengers making a buck?

When I witnessed them removing everything steel/iron as
scrap, destroying and disposing of other items oblivious
to their value, I finally understood that I was trying to deal
with commonplace scavengers, unable to appreciate
anything more than some thing's salvage value.

Mike Thompson had the gall to call in Habitat for
Humanity's Restore Store staff to have them remove items
from the property. What follows are photographs of
Restore's salvage of 1960 S Maple contents, even some of
the interior doors of value.

Far more than what Habitat took was pointlessly
despoiled...>>

The above was written shortly after the Restore Truck had
been seen removing items from 1960 on March 5, 2008.
Considering the date,
Don Reiff could well have been
responsible for calling Habitat for Humanity's Restore
Store.

The removal of "salvage" referred to occurred in January...
The "beatings will continue"
notice mentioned in the
Ann
Arbor News article...
Doors removed from the
shop/studio, a total of about 5, some
of real value.

The father of one of my daughter's
schoolmates happened to be at the
Restore store while I was there.

I called him over and said, "Watch
this," locking the latch on the glass
paneled door.

I took out my keys and fingered one
out, fit it into the latch and unlocked
the door.

"I'd say it's one of my doors,
wouldn't you?"
