As always, comments and corrections are welcome,
especially if you or someone you know has had any

In the US District Court of the Northern District of Illinois,
Eastern Division:
Case: 1:07-cv-01367:

This document is no longer publicly available on line: a .pdf file of
the 'Memorandum Opinion...to Dismiss' can be downloaded from
here.

What is remarkable here is the fact that Marshall Atlas*, the principle
of The Salta Group, a tax lien investing company, and HBZ, Inc,
another such company, registered as unrelated entities at the Cook
County, IL, tax lien sale:

The only problem with Mr Atlas's allegation of the two parties
"unrelatedness" is that it would have required that he thoroughly
disowned and forgotten or simply did not know who his own
daughter was, nor became acquainted with her or noticed her
wandering about the house they shared.

In the words of the presiding judge, the Honorable James F.
Holderman, "The facts alleged (evidence of relation and living
arrangements- ed note) are enough to satisfy the requirements of
Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 9(b) to establish relatedness..."
See bottom of page 15, top of 16 of the Memorandum.

*Mr Atlas also happens to be the Vice President on the Board of
Directors of the National Tax Lien Association, the
NTLA
Here is a link to another auction fixed in another manner
entirely, in which Destiny-98 (and some of it's other shells) was
an accomplice. Was Doug Gale there personally? The
news
release
does not mention the personnel involved but given the
date (2002) it is very likely he was
. The case was settled out of
court
at significant costs to the defendants.

Doug Gale also happens to be on the Board of the NTLA; he
was, but is not currently, its Treasurer.
